The figures on US popularity of both baseball show a promising stable future for soccer in America. Even though soccer may be more popular than baseball at times of the year and especially during the world cup, baseball shows little to no loss in popularity.

One issue that changes this deadlock between the two sports is the World Cup. The World Cup garners the attention of many millions of people across the world and especially grabs the attention of Americans. During a period where the USMNT participates in the World Cup, US interest in Soccer increases greatly. It can be assumed that this spike of interest introduces soccer to many more people in the US who usually wouldn't be interested in the sport.Image result for World Series

On the other hand, baseball has no gigantic competion like the World Cup. Even the World Series itself is misleading in two senses as it doesn't include other countries and doesn't gather popularity at even the rates during the regular season.

Overall, the main disparity between these two amazing sports is the global World Cup competion which has the potential to grow soccer popularity in the United States. Baseball has no competition like this and will likely only experience a constant level of popularity in the years to come.

Of course search numbers doesn't actually depict the realistic popularity of both sports. Another variable is that of that more people physically go to baseball games than those go to soccer games. This fact may go both ways though as gathering popularity with less people going to games may actually be more difficult. Nonetheless. Both sports are most likely close to even in popularity in the US but in different ways.
