This Graph exemplifies that although baseball currently leads soccer in popularity based on searches, soccer experiences greater highs in popularity. We can see that during a year of the World Cup, soccer sees a huge jump (assuming the USMNT were placed into the World Cup). These jumps occur every 4 years and had the greatest impact in 2014 where the US participated in the World Cup and qualified for the round of 16. Baseball on the other hand seems to experience no huge spike in popularity as it remains at a higher popularity on average. Baseball also experiences a very predictable popularity cycle with its most popular time being in the summer.

In this figure, the United States is pictured by each state and its overall percentage of popularity of baseball in comparison to soccer. There are Fourteen states in which soccer is more popular by a margin below 10%. However, most of the rest of the states (excluding a collection of Midwestern and Southern states), show a margin that is below 10% between baseball and soccer.

In this final graph, soccer and baseball are included with their popularity ratings based on searches from the last 10 years. On intersting feature is that soccer has had a higher average rating than baseball. In addition at times, it looks like soccer has had a sustained level of popularity even at a local maximum popularity of baseball in its yearly cycle.
